Perhaps the most significant decision in the history of the Public Fishery in BC, is quickly approaching. On April 1st 2021, we will find out if this is the beginning of a brand-new chapter, driven by data and Conservation Science that will protect chinook salmon and the coastal communities that rely on them, or if this is the beginning of the end for the Public Fishery in BC.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Federal Fisheries Minister Bernadette Jordan hold the future of BC’s Public Fishery in their hands. We urge them to make the right decision and allow data to guide the way forward. We need them to preserve Socio-Economic opportunity for all Canadians and defend the Public fishery for those whose lives and families depend on it.
